reading journal #7!

oh god!
this book almost made me cry.
I just finished reading dry by Augusten Burroughs and it was a great book!
It was a sad ,heartbreaking story told by the perspective of an alcoholic man in his early 20's.
He explains his love life as a gay guy.
his struggles with alcoholism and his work and with guys.
It truly amazed me that a gay person could have the courage to write something this beautiful and be soo open with everybody!
this is my first time reading something from the perspective of someone with the preference of someone their same sex,and it was truly Ah-ma-zzingggg....
i couldn't stop reading ,it was so captivating.
my mom would come into my room without knocking and ask me to do a favor for her,i would go mad and give her the look of "cant you see I'm busy right now!"right when i was almost done with the book.
seriously,i hate it when people come barging into my room and i am reading, and they ask me to to something, right when I'm reading!!(ugh.....cant have any privacy people?)
anyways,good,good book.
And so funny too.
well,i think that is it for now,oh and for my next reading journal i think i will start the impulse book that i bought at sdsu, the day of the field trip.
soo yeah......bye.
And thanx for reading.

reading journal # 6

I am reading this book called "DRY" by Augusten Burroughs, and its written by a man (which is a thing i almost don't do).
It explains how his life was as an advertiser for almost anything. Its really interesting because it describes his struggles and his accomplishments doing his work, and surprisingly he indicates some pointers in graphic design ,which i love it.
And then he explains his life as an alcoholic and how it starts to ruin his career.
Its a very intense memoir.I haven't gotten that far in the book ,so that is why I'm not writing much. But I'm beginning to like it.

eclipse.Reading journal #5 (do not read if you havent read all of the books)

Lets start with twilight. And yeah, they are making a movie out of it.go see it on November 21st!.
that was the most amazing book Ive ever read in my entire life!.
i just love it.whats not to like?
Stephenie Meyer is like my own personal hero.
The second book .new moon.yeah.i didn't like it that much.
i mean what Edward did to Bella was inexcusable!!! (but i still like him)
Then Jacob comes along....................ugh!don't even want to think about it.or talk about it.
that book made me cry....well just a little. She is still a good writer though.
Third book.eclipse.the one i was reading.
love it.love it.love it.
She makes her books so realistic....its like I'm there.
i read this book in 2 days.this is the second time i read this book.
my aunt gave it to me last Christmas and that was my first time reading it.
after that i began to read the other books ,and so i was all bored and then i saw it and decided to read it.again.
okay so if you haven't read this book i wont spoil it!
nor the others either.
And last but not least.breaking dawn.the last book of the saga.
i suggest that you buy it!!!!(so badly :( .......)
I'm serious.
i guarantee that you will like it soo much!!
so go the store right now.
buy the other books (twilight, new moon, eclipse, and breaking dawn)
and read them!.
oh!one more thing,Stephenie Meyer is working on Midnight Sun,twilight book but in Edwards perspective!.if you want to take a look on the first 12 chapters ,go to Stephenie's page at
www.stepheniemeyer.com an then you have to download the draft.

reading journal # 4!!!

So I'm reading this book called the uglies.
The first 3 chapters were so boring........the weird thing is that i knew that they were boring but i kept on reading.well i kinda hoped that there was coming an interesting part.but!!!!!....................
no.they were still boring.i was going to stop reading that book because there wasn't anything that could get my attention.i didn't though.i keeeeept on reading.
And when i was in like half of the book i started to like it.it got my whole attention and i couldn't stop reading.it was really interesting.
it talked about how they separated the uglies from the pretties and then the old ones ,young ones and how they used to make a lot of trouble.i don't remember how many times i laughed .but it was a lot oftimes.
maybe the thing that got me bored was that the author gave out too much detail on the places that they went and not that much of the dialogue between the characters.
well maybe he did.but he still gave out too much detail.
more than necessary.
the thing that got me more interested was that every person on their 16 birthday they had to get a surgery to make them all pretty,etc...
and the main character tally had to go find her missing friend and betray her in order to become pretty or else she would stay the same as ever.
she did run away.she went to find her friend.
when she did,she found out the ways they lived.
she had t get used to it.
but she didn't want to betray her friend.
the end was so shocking!!
i coulnt believe what she did!
soooo sad.
truly sad.
and well i finished the book.it got me wishing that i had the second book .
maybe i will.lets just hope that the author doesn't give too much detail. :)

reading journal # 2

Well,so i just started reading this book called Crank by Hellen Hopkins.
Its pretty intense.
And so its about this girl named Kristina whom she calls herself Bree, for no specific reason.
And she is like in this stage of adolescence that she begins to like boys......trying new drugs,etc...
And i think its a hard life she is living right now.I mean her dad is an alcoholic, and doesn't work most of the time.what life is he teaching her daughter???, who is staying with him for three weeks,i think.
Anyways ,its interesting to me because Ive never lived that kind of life, nor i wish to ,either.
But to read their point of view (perspective) its a whole new point.
you get to experience their feelings about things that is going on.
I don't know how to explain what you fell when your reading what she is saying to us .(readers)
I think i will enjoy this book a lot.

"where im from"

I am from a chocolate cereal box ,

from choco crispis and milk.

I am from the nearby trees in front of our porch.

(green, tall with a smell of herbs).

I am from the plant in the corner,

the lilies,the lemon trees,

the little plant, white roses, and the juiciness of fresh lemons.

I'm from family reunions of Mexican-Americans

from Susana and Santiago.

I'm from the party poppers and food maniacs.

From the monster inside my closet

and from the ghosts who are coming for me .

I'm from a catholic church

the house of God.

I'm from Scrips hospital and the Bonilla's Family Tree,

cane asada and burritos.

From the motorcycle accident my uncle had and had surgery

the eye surgery my aunt had to keep her vision.

In my closet was a big old box

keeping family childhood pictures

safe with loving memories.

I'm from those memories-

that i will carry on with me

for the rest of my life.
