Running with scissors

I'm still reading this book,i haven't gone too far ,i am like at the beginning of the story.
"I had persistent warts on my fingers that needed to be burned off and my throat was constantly sore due to the dust that i cupped in my hands and inhaled."
This kid is was only ten years old and wanted to get "high" and be just like her mother.(his mother smoked so i guess he couldn't and so he instead inhaled dust)
I was like whatttttttt?????
(this kid sure has some imagination)
Plus this kid had 3 different doctors and i want to to know what were his real intentions of going to the doctor like once every day.Seriously he did tings to go to the doctor and get checked up.That is weird.And i want to know why he did it.
So far the book is good.And i hope i could read a little bit faster.

"I will be wearing the dress my mother didn't wear.It is long ,black and 100 percent polyester,my favorite fabric because it flows.I will wear her dress and her shoes and i will be her."
I just started reading Running with scissors by Auguten Burroughs.And when i read this part,i was shocked and confused,to be honest.Simply because this book is written by a boy's perspective.So why would he want to wear her clothes?He can be like her,but wearing her clothes?.You know it reminds me , when i was little i used to put on my mom's heels and dresses and i would pretend i was her for a minute.Is it like the same thing he is thinking?Well, i really need to read more to find out.And that's as far as i got with my reading.Its not much but the book is starting to get really interesting........
