my perppective about the the idea of 'the good life"

What exactly does it mean to live well?
does it have to do with money?health?or just plain living ?
well,probably many people would agree on living well means the dream house everyone wants,having a bunch of money,and partying.Was there something i missed?if so , oh well!.
Anyways others would say that living is all about making the right choices,staying fit,having a great job,and a family of their own.
I'm kinda in the middle right now.
what would be your choice?

Okay.i think i have my choice of living well.
My opinion on living the good life would definitely have to be on having a glass house near a beach were no hurricanes or whatever natural disasters would come,having a good job and at the same time having my own business someday,being healthy and like die till I'm near 100 something .Oh!and having my own personal chef.............that would be awesome.I mean eating whatever you want at any time.
what else?
of course.
Having a family of my own someday.
Preferably after in my thirties.
Because i see my mom ,she is 32,and she goes out with her Friends almost 3 times a week and see her having a a great time ,wishing i could be like that ,but at 25,and after.
You know what?now that i am thinking about it,my moms life rocks.
she is like a teenager,although she is really 32.
And i wish i can be like her.
that is my idea of the great life.

reading journal # 9.

Okay,so Caitlin let me borrow one of her books that is called "burned " by Hellen Hopkins and she is the same author of the sequel to crank.
this book is so personal and intense that at the end of finishing it you would be like "wow".
so lets start.Pattyn has a strict mean dad and a mother that she doesnt even deserve her childern to call her mom because she doesnt do anything for them.Pattyn has 6 other sisters to take care of,because her mom is too busy pleasuring her husband and making the size of the family bigger.Now,how would you fell about that? well ,as for me i have 3 brothers who i sometimes take care of when my mom goes out with her friends.I dont have to do much because my mom puts them to sleep before leaving,so thats a good thing.But on other times when she leaves during the day,whoa!,they get all crazy on me,there is no force that cant stop them.And this is why,one is 3 ,the second one is 6 and the third one is 8.Combined all together ,they are a nightmare of any big sister. and yes i do love them ,they are my brothers!.Well, in any case i dont know how Pattyn can take care of her 6 sisters all by herself!soon to take care of one more.that is just too much ,i mean what are parents for? Arent they to take care of their children ,love them and give them all a child needs of them!Clearly ,they dont know what a parent is.Said by who?Me,of course.
Let me just warn you right now,that i think this is going to be one long journal............
and i am serious. Oh,god! i forgot to tell you.Oh well.She is a mormon.And she goes to a holy school.
When she begins to have dreams about boys,she feels confused if she should be having them or not.She cant go tell her dad,no way!.he would kill her.So she does this instead.she tells the priest! i woulnt do that,no,no.Who would do such a thing?
I guess its her responsiblity to tell the priest when something like that is happening to her? i dont really know.But still,that would be so ,so embarrasing.
Anyways,the priest is no help to her.He tells her that she is possesed by the devil.Ugh!
I was starting to not like that so called priest.bla ,bla , bla.So she meets this guiy while she is point shooting in the desert,and he begins to talk to her ,and so on,until he kisses her.She doesnt even know the guy and she lets him.So they begin to date and everything ,until the day comes that her dad found out!.She was so busted .Her dad threats the guy with the gun that he had with him to not come near her daughter anymore or else .I didnt really believe the dad when he said that,because he could go to jail.but the next day after school ,the guy,whats his name ?
um........i cant remember.i think i have short-term memory.jk.but i cant remember his name!
okay,whatever.he tells her that they are done.I thought that she was going to start crying and run away from him and he was going to go after her.None of that happened though.Instead of doing what i thought she would do ,she cursed at him,screamed at him,and then she ran away from him.You know what he did??

Nothing.
He just walked away.
What a man!
NO WAIT!guess what Pattyn saw the next day at school?
He was in the arms of another girl,holding her close to him.
What a liar!way to go!......
What was wrong with him!?
Because of what she saw,she of course,got soo furious.she went to the girl when she was alone.
she just wanted to tell her he wasnt worth it.the other girl in defense told Pattyn that he only used her to pleasure himself,and that she wasnt even worth it ether.
Pattyn got really mad.
And punched her right in the nose!
Dont want to go in too much detail.Pattyn got suspended and her dad got do mad at her,he beat her when they where in their home.

Remembering reading this part,im getting so mad.

Its like i want to be in the story and go to the police and then he would go to jail for the rest of his life,because this is not the first time he hits her.
but im not in the story.
the thing that got me so pissed off ,is that not even the priest believes Pattyn that her dad hits her and her sisters,he still says that she is possesed and that she shoulnt be lying in the name of the father.

Like he is a good priest! yeah right.

So her mom and dad decide to send her to her aunt j's house for the summer because her dad doesnt want her in his house while her mom is pregnant.yeah,i know what you are thinking.
i was hinking that too,when reading the book.

Okay..............so on their way to their aunt j's house they stop at a market and Pattyn sees this cute man and while the man is walking he sees her too and gives her a smile wich in her case is a "drop to your kness gourgeous smile" or something like that.And so all the way to her aunts house she is still thinking about him.Finally when they arrive to the house she begins to regret going there.who woulnt?i would.defenetly.I men to feel that they dont care or love you at home and come to the extremes of sending you away with someone you barely know.

I felt bad for her.And sad.
but not for long!!
After a week being there she learns how to:

-Drive:defenition of her dad is that no women should learn how to drive unless her husband wants her to.He should teach her how to.
Good thing i dont have a father like that!

-Ride a horse: that sounded like fun

-Something about planting things:sounded boring to me.

But thats not what i meant .

In that same week , she begins to like that guy from the market place.your question would be "but how?",well so happens to be that her aunt j knows him and his family.

Weird.
Information,information,she learns a few thins of him from her aunt j.
1.He is a college freshman.
2.He is a good man.
3.He has a sick mother.
4.His name is Ethan.

Now,considering that she herself is junior in high school and he is a freshman in college,thats not so bad is it?
i cant decide on that,yet.

O.........................kay.So they begin to know eachother,then date .After all of that they are officially in love.I dint go in detail this time because they did a lot of stuff together and then i would start typing all those moments and my opinions and so it would just make it more longer than necessary.Wow!my hand its starting to hurt.In those weeks she discovers love ,and acceptance and most importantly she discovers how valuable she is.that is sometimes hard for someone to do.

oh!dont worry i think im almost done.
im gettind sadder by the minute.You will find out why.
Her time is up,one mornig she is told that her father wants her back at home.
Ethan comes to the last reunion they will have and gives her a compromise ring,wich has 3 diamonds.
1 for her,1 for him,1 for both.that was so sweet!
And a golden locket wich he had given her for her birthday that had a pictiure of him.
He wanted her to always carry him with her in her heart.
i wanted to cry,but i coulnt.
The last good thing that they had was that he was going to be able to drive her home.A long,long way home.
so they had time to be together.
He promised to keep in touch,to vist when he could and to always love her.(awwww)
that was real love.they say that if you are lucky it will come to you.
soooo, back to where we were,she went home .
You know what the first thing her dad told her??
Get me a bowl of ice cream.
Yeahhh.
I know.
i thought he would change,appereantly i was wrong ,so wrong.
weeks passed by,bla bla bla (more hitting )
school was well school.
sometimes she would be in the bathroom talking on the phone with Ethan.
On one of those days she confessed to him that she was pregnant!and some girls heard that.word spread out,and she knew she better do something quick before her dad found out.
he said he would find a way to work things out.
the first thing that popped into my head was marrige.
GUESS WHAT??
i was so right.
he said that she knew he loved her ,and he would love the baby too and he would take care of both of them.(i was almost ready to cry by then)
but she was only 17 and they needed permission of her parents.THERE WAS NO WAY HER DAD WOULD LET HER.
so they decided on waiting till Pattyn was 18 so they could make a faimly of their own.
He was going to pick her up on thursday of the same week and make their escape.
On thursday,when she saw him for the first time in weeks she felt happy and nothing mattered to her anymore,because she was with the love of her life.
the thing she didnt see was one of the students writing down the license plate number!.

When they were on the road,they saw some red and blue lights behind them.At this point i was so mad.How could he?!
he had called the cops.
Pattyn however told Ethan not to stop.
He did as she said.
But when they turned onto the curve,the speed was to high.
And the last thing she heard of Ethan say to her was "Hold on!".
i knew what was going to happen then.And that was when finally the tears started spilling out.
Pattyn woke up in the hospital screaming Ethans name.
Nobody would answer her.
It was too late.
He didnt make it.
I stared to cry even more.I coulnt believe it.
It was suposed to be a happy ending!
i was wrong,again.
you know what the most sad part was?
SHE LOST THE LAST PART THAT SHE HAD OF ETHAN .THEIR BABY.
so sad,yes i know.
And on top of that ,her dad kicked her out of the house.
she had no where to go.Except for her aunt j's house.
but who would take her?
She had nobody.
i wa shocked by her last decision.

She decided on hiding on the dessert with a gun that Ethan once gave her for protection against her dad and have revenge aginst all those people that interwind with her future with Ethan and her baby.

Shocked??

I WAS.

And that is the end.

Im sorry ms.kay.i know that you didnt want a summary of the book.but for some strange reasion i wanted to share this story to everyone else.

reading journal # 8!

I'm not reading a book right now.
And the reason is because Caitlin has the burned book which is a sequel to crank (i think i wrote a journal about it)and she is going to let me borrow it.
(hope she brings it tomorrow)
But i did read some magazine that is called "vision magazine" and the title "Halloween:a holiday of transformation" grabbed my attention right away.
And as i read , it said that Halloween was named in the 7th century!
can you believe it??
It started with All-hallows meaning saint day and they dressed up as their favorites saints and spirits,then it was known as Halloween.
Cool ,huh?
so yes,it was an interesting article to read,and so yeah, that's pretty much it.

reading journal #7!

oh god!
this book almost made me cry.
I just finished reading dry by Augusten Burroughs and it was a great book!
It was a sad ,heartbreaking story told by the perspective of an alcoholic man in his early 20's.
He explains his love life as a gay guy.
his struggles with alcoholism and his work and with guys.
It truly amazed me that a gay person could have the courage to write something this beautiful and be soo open with everybody!
this is my first time reading something from the perspective of someone with the preference of someone their same sex,and it was truly Ah-ma-zzingggg....
i couldn't stop reading ,it was so captivating.
my mom would come into my room without knocking and ask me to do a favor for her,i would go mad and give her the look of "cant you see I'm busy right now!"right when i was almost done with the book.
seriously,i hate it when people come barging into my room and i am reading,and they ask me to to something,right when I'm reading!!(ugh.....cant have any privacy people?)
anyways,good,good book.
And so funny too.
well,i think that is it for now,oh and for my next reading journal i think i will start the impulse book that i bought at sdsu,the day of the field trip.

reading journal # 6

I am reading this book called "DRY" by Augusten Burroughs,and its written by a man (which is a thing i almost don't do).
It explains how his life was as an advertiser for almost anything.Its really interesting because it describes his struggles and his accomplishments doing his work,and surprisingly he indicates some pointers in graphic design ,which i love it.
And then he explains his life as an alcoholic and how it starts to ruin his career.
Its a very intense memoir.I haven't gotten that far in the book ,so that is why I'm not writing much.But I'm beginning to like it.
